Alpha – Explore Christianity

Many of us have noticed that there’s something not quite right about the life we lead and the world we live in.

It feels like something could be better, or even that there is something missing altogether.

This human problem is something we all experience in one way or another as we walk the complicated, difficult, and beautiful path of life together.

Is there an answer to this problem? Or, at the very least, a good way to approach it? And is there something more to this life?

These are the kinds of questions and topics addressed in ICF-Noord’s Alpha Course. An intersection of three of our church’s favorite things: community, discipleship, and mission.

Originating from Holy Trinity Brompton in London, the Alpha Course aims to provide seekers of meaning with answers to life’s biggest questions and how these intersect with the way of Jesus.

Divided over the course of 11 weekly sessions (including a weekend away), we at ICF-Noord meet with those on a journey for deeper meaning. During this time, we share meals together, listen to talks on a variety of topics, and have discussions in small groups.

Much more than a set of lectures, our Alpha Course aims to build community. Christ is not only presented in the talks we have but also in the atmosphere of sitting around a table and getting to know one another on a deeper level.

Through these meetings, participants are given a place to voice their questions free of judgment. Alpha is an environment for all kinds of people coming from all kinds of backgrounds. Being an intercultural church, this is something we’re very passionate about. We aim to make our Alpha meetings a place of listening and relationship building. Where people can feel safe to ask questions and look for the deeper meaning in life.

Details of our ongoing Alpha Courses will be published here when a new course becomes available. If you are interested in learning more or in joining an Alpha Course, then please send an email to jonathan.dinovo@wec-int.org
