Children’s ministry volunteers

At ICF-Noord we believe it is important to raise children with the Word of God, which is why each Sunday we aim to provide children’s ministry. To keep this vital area of ministry going, we are urgently in need of more volunteer children’s workers.

Each Sunday we provide children with their own service to learn more about the Bible and God. To do this, we use Bible Basics - a programme that goes through more than 200 Bible stories in a year. Each session from the programme includes a Bible story and activity, which is run by one-two children’s ministry assistants (at least one Dutch speaker). Alongside this, we have a team lead who is responsible for overall coordination of the children’s ministry. 

Today we are on the search for volunteers to fill the roles of assistant and team lead to ensure we can continue to faithfully serve the children within our church. 

What will be asked of you as a volunteer children’s ministry assistant?

• Be willing to run one session of children’s ministry a month, alongside one other volunteer
• For special services, like Christmas or other holidays, help come up with ideas for a special activity for children. For example, singing a song or making a small musical
• Be happy to share ideas to help improve the children’s ministry
• Sign up to our ‘safe church’ agreement to ensure we protect our children.

What will be asked of you as a volunteer children’s ministry team lead?

As well as the above activities, as our team lead you will need to: 

• Coordinate the volunteer and activity timetable 
• Take the lead for our special services and organise the activities
• Make time to check in with volunteers, encouraging and answering any questions/worries they might have.
